The Boston Celtics emerged from their NBA Playoffs Conference Semifinals series against the Milwaukee Bucks with a Game 7 victory. However, it wasn't a completely positive night for the Celtics, as guard Marcus Smart suffered a foot injury towards the end of the contest against Milwaukee. On Monday, Smart received a troubling update from Celtics head coach Ime Udoka as the MRI results came back ahead of Tuesday's Game 1 matchup vs. the Miami Heat, as reported by ESPN's Tim Bontemps and Adrian Wojnarowski.

Per Bontemps, Celtics head coach Ime Udoka said that Smart will be listed as questionable for Game 1 vs. the Heat. Udoka has called the injury a midfoot sprain, though in a positive twist, the imaging from the MRI came back clean, per Wojnarowski.

On the one hand, it's a positive sign that Smart has avoided a serious injury. On the other hand, the Celtics will be tasked with playing another formidable opponent in these NBA Playoffs with the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year at less-than-full strength.

Smart dealt with a quad injury during the series against the Bucks, though he remained a steady contributor on both ends when available.

With the hope that Smart will be available for Game 1 vs. the Heat, the Celtics definitely have a chance at having their best defender on the court Tuesday night. Stay tuned for updates on Smart.
