The Boston Celtics have two “Jays” in the young pair of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, but they are now also featuring a couple of Brads. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Celtics are nearing a deal with EuroLeague guard Brad Wanamaker.

Wanamaker apparently chose to take on the opportunity to realize his lifelong dream of becoming an NBA player over a beefy contract offer from a European ball club. As pointed out by Jose Ignacio Huguet of Mundo Deportivo (h/t Eurohoops.net), Spanish franchise Barcelona put a two-year deal worth three million Euros ($3.51 million) on Wanamakers’ table.

To be exact Barcelona is offering a two-year contract with three million euros total net salary for the player, who has not yet accepted it. According to the same report, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv is also trying to lure Wanamaker to Israel and he is also expecting offers from the NBA.

But based on Wojnarowski’s report, the former Pittsburgh Panthers standout obviously wanted to play on home soil, particularly in the best league in the world.

After playing four seasons of collegiate hoops in Pittsburgh, Brad Wanamaker entered his name in the 2011 NBA Draft but went unselected. He inked a 10-day deal with the Atlanta Hawks but went on to have a more meaningful basketball stint across the pond in Europe, where he suited up for a number of ball clubs.

Among his stops in Europe includes one with the Brose Bamberg in Germany, where he was teammates with current Celtics big man Daniel Theis.
