Tacko Fall has spent much of this season with the Celtics' G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. However, the 7-5 big man could soon be called up, as Boston is currently dealing with frontcourt injuries.

Celtics writer Marc D'Amico shared the news on Tuesday morning:

Fall went undrafted in 2019, but his sheer size and defensive talent had many teams interested in his services. Ultimately, he wound up with the Celtics, who went on to sign the Senegalese big man on a two-way contract.

In his eight appearances with the Red Claws, Fall has racked up averages of 13.6 points on 67.6 percent shooting from the field, 9.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.3 blocks in 22.4 minutes per outing.

Because of a knee bruise suffered Nov. 25 in Memphis, Fall has not been in Maine since before Thanksgiving. He returned to practice last week, sat on the Celtics bench in Thursday night’s home loss to Philadelphia and was back in a Red Claws jersey Friday night in Iowa.

He said his knee is healing, that he is working on regaining his conditioning and it feels good to return to the court.

As previously mentioned, the Celtics are dealing with a pair of frontcourt injuries. Robert Williams has been diagnosed with a bone edema in his left hip and will be re-evaluated in three weeks. Vincent Poirier suffered a fractured right pinkie finger during Monday's practice and is expected to be out of commission for roughly six weeks.

Injuries are unfortunate, but it leaves the door of opportunity open for Fall. Let's see if he is indeed called up in coming games.
