Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens unexpectedly provided rookie Tacko Fall with some early minutes during Wednesday night's matchup against the San Antonio Spurs.

Tacko Fall has barely figured in Boston's rotation so far this season, with the 7-foot-5 big man usually just taking the floor during garbage time. So much so that even Fall himself was a bit surprised when his number was called early during the contest. At one point, the 24-year-old even had to pinch himself when Celtics superstar point guard Kemba Walker called on him for a screen.

“It was crazy,” he said, via Tom Westerholm of Mass Live. “I was like, ‘Wow, I’m about to set a screen for Kemba Walker.’ … He’s a great player. I was trying to set really good screens for him to be able to come off and make plays, because that’s what he does.”

Despite his minor role in the team, Fall continues to keep his head up, always keeping his trust in the process.

“I didn’t know I was going to go in that early,” Fall said. “Kind of caught me by surprise, but I was ready, I was locked in. I knew that I had to stay ready, you never know what’s going to happen. I don’t know what their plan is, but I’m sure they know what they’re doing, so for me, it’s just a matter of going out there and trying to do my job.”

Fall went undrafted last June, and is currently on a two-way deal with the C's.
