Boston Celtics point guard Terry Rozier recently sat down for an interview with the analysts of ESPN's “First Take.” Amid their discussion, the former No. 16 overall pick was asked if he would like to return to Boston next season if the team were to keep the same roster. His reply was straight to the point:

Stephen A. Smith: “If the Celtics said to you, ‘We're bringing everybody back (next season). Same team. It's going to be exactly the way it was this past year.' Do you want to stay in Boston?”

Terry Rozier: “I might have to go (x2). I put up with a lot this year. I said what I said at the end of the season. I think we all know that I'm not trying to step in that again.”

Rozier has played a crucial role for the Celtics on several occasions, but for whatever reason, his services are often overlooked. Last season, he stepped into a more active role, as Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward were both out with injuries. This season, Rozier saw his role diminish quite a bit. Irving was back in the fold, which cut into Rozier's playing time at the point guard position.

During an appearance on ESPN's “Get Up!,” Rozier noted that the schemes drawn up in practice didn't always translate to actual game settings:

Mike Greenberg: “How was it different on the floor than it was in practice?”

Terry Rozier: “We'd have our first five, then our second five. And then, when we went out there, I feel like a lot of guys were mixed up. It wouldn't be the first five and second five. What we talked about in practice is not what we went through in the game.”

It's fairly safe to say Rozier is not pleased with the way the Celtics utilized his services in this campaign. Whether or not he'll be with the team next season remains to be seen:

“I'm gonna take it a little easy (in the offseason),” Rozier replied when asked about his future. “I'm gonna relax a little bit, get some time to myself. I'm looking forward to just playing ball. I don't care where I go. Obviously, the Celtics are the only organization I knew for four years. I love it there, but we just have to go from there.

“I expect for me to get my chance, whether it's with the Celtics or anywhere else,” Rozier said in closing. “I feel like I can be myself and play my game wherever I go.”

Will Rozier be with the Celtics next season, or will he get a leading role with another team? He's set to be a restricted free agent, so Boston will have the opportunity to match any contract. Kyrie Irving's situation could also play a role in this decision.
