Boston Celtics point guard Terry Rozier is still ways away from locking down a contract extension with the team, but he's already penned a vital deal with Puma, who has returned to the NBA for the first time since boasting Vince Carter as the face of the brand.

The deal was signed a few weeks ago, when the brand signed several of the most important rookies of the NBA Draft, snatching the likes of top overall pick DeAndre Ayton, No. 2 pick Marvin Bagley, Michael Porter Jr. and Zhaire Smith.

“Me signing with Puma is basically letting you know, I’m taking over the Puma world,” said Rozier assertively, according to Bleacher Report. “You got guys taking over Adidas, you got guys taking over Nike, whatever. I’m competing with the Puma world and I’m taking over that **t. From the jump.”

“That’s my whole thing. I feel like I’m going to turn it up because — I ain’t gonna knock nobody on Puma, but I feel like I’m very marketable, I’m the guy that they needed to sign.”

Rozier came into prominence this season after playing 113 games two seasons with the Celtics with no starts to his name.

The Louisville product averaged 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game last season, which propelled his stint as the starting point guard during the postseason, as Kyrie Irving's season came to an end due to knee surgery.

Rozier notoriously wore Nike shoes throughout his career, but pointed he had never signed with the brand.

“I was never with them. I was just wearing them,” said Rozier. “I ain’t f**kin’ with nobody else but Puma. That’s just what it is. I don’t care that I wore Nike, I’m with Puma now.”

Scary Terry is certainly a marketable guy, with plenty of intensity, grit, and mass appeal. The deal could soon become a gold mine if the Celtics choose to part ways with Irving next year, pushing Rozier's image (and his kicks) further into the spotlight.
