LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Horford were picked last for Team LeBron and Team Stephen, respectively, and it doesn’t appear to be an issue for either player. According to a report by ESPN’s Chris Haynes, Stephen Curry selected Horford last for his team, and with the very last pick in the draft, LeBron James was left with Aldridge.

While this might be an issue to some players who may feel slighted by not being picked earlier (remember Russell Westbrook?), Horford went on record to say that he does not care as long as he’s playing in the All-Star Game.

In a video interview posted by Warren Shaw of Shaw Sports, Horford seems genuinely happy just to be one of the 24 players chosen to play this Sunday. In fact, he would love for the NBA to televise the drafting process that James and Curry went through to choose the players for their teams.

“It’s fine. I would encourage it to be on TV,” Horford said. “I think it would be fun. Guys have to understand something. Just because…I mean, you’re being picked last out of 24 players, right? Twenty-four elite players, that are All-Stars…people are always gonna talk whether you deserve to be here, or you do not deserve to be here. At the end of the day, we’re just having fun with it.”

Al Horford reminisced about the time when he and most of these NBA players were younger and they had to be picked to play on a team in the playground.

“It really reminds me of back in the day when you were in the schoolyard,” Horford adds. “and you were picking teams. Maybe you would have taken it a little harder then but now? Come on.”

Asked if he was picked last out of the 24 players if he would be fine with it, Horford simply says, “It would be fine.”

Televising it would be great for everyone, it seems. Just don’t ask Westbrook.
