Terrell Owens may be headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame (whether or not he attends his induction ceremony), but he’s still not ready to hang up his cleats just yet. The 44-year-old continues to hold out hope of a possible NFL comeback. He recently posted a video of himself running an impressive 4.43 40-yard dash to entice teams, but he still hasn’t received any interest from the league.

However, he could have an option to turn to in the CFL. As Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk notes, the Edmonton Eskimos have added T.O. to their negotiation list.

It doesn’t guarantee that Owens will join Johnny Manziel in Canada, but he and Edmonton could still talk and see if he’d be interested in coming over.

Owens had a brief spell with the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League in 2012, which is the last time he’s been part of a competitive league. As for the NFL, he was last seen with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010. Despite being 37 years old at the time, he still had close to 1,000 receiving yards (983) on 72 catches with nine touchdowns.

Obviously, Owens would prefer to get one last shot at playing in the NFL. It seems as if he still has unfinished business in the league. But if Owens just wants one more chance to play and show he’s still got it even at 44 years of age, the CFL may be his best shot at doing so given the lack of interest from the NFL.
