Los Angeles Chargers coach Anthony Lynn has made it clear that other wide receivers besides Keenan Allen need to step up and start helping out the offense.

So far this season Allen has caught 29 passes for 404 yards and three touchdowns which is impressive. It's even more impressive when it's considered that Phillip Rivers has thrown 944 yards and five touchdowns.

As impressed as Lynn has been with Allen, he knows those stats prove that it's other guys who aren't doing enough right now.

“We’re going to need everyone,” coach Anthony Lynn said this week via the LA Times. “We’re 1-2 right now. We need everybody in that receiving group to step up and make plays, not just Keenan. As they step up, we’ll spread the ball around.”

One of the big problems with the offense is they are missing some key pieces. Melvin Gordon was a key part of the passing game and so was Hunter Henry.

Mike Williams is also dealing with a knee injury and although he has been playing through it, it has made being explosive tough.

“Mike is showing a lot of toughness right now,” Lynn said. “Mike is really playing with his injuries and he’s fighting through it. I think that’s part of learning how to be a professional, playing through pain and producing.”

Travis Benjamin and Dontrelle Inman are the two receivers behind Williams and Allen and that seems to be who this message from Lynn is directed towards. The Chargers play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and if the first couple of weeks are any indication, all the wideouts should have big games.
