Los Angeles Chargers fans and fantasy football players alike had to be cringing when running back Austin Ekeler landed on the injury report with a hamstring injury on Wednesday. Ekeler didn't practice because of the injury, putting his Week 1 status against the Washington Football Team into question.

However, about an hour before the first reports of Ekeler's injury were hitting the wire, the Chargers running back sent a hype tweet getting everybody ready for the 2021 NFL season:

Is this a sign that the injury isn't that bad? Was this a scheduled tweet from him? Did somebody else send this tweet for him? Did he somehow get hurt right after sending this tweet? So many questions!

Either way, Austin Ekeler's hamstring injury will be something to monitor over the next few days leading up to Sunday. There are high expectations for Ekeler in 2021 as he enters the fifth year of his career as a top weapon for young Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

However, Ekeler is no stranger to hamstring injuries. He was limited to 10 games in 2020 due to hamstring and knee injuries. Given that, it's reasonable to have at least a little concern about this situation.

If Ekeler isn't able to go against Washington, Justin Jackson, Joshua Kelley and Larry Rountree III sit behind him on the Chargers' running back depth chart.
