The Los Angeles Chargers finally have some good news when it comes to the running back position. Despite star runner Melvin Gordon holding out, it looks as though the Chargers have found their next man up.

Second-year player Justin Jackson has been showing out this training camp and has certainly made an impression on his teammates. Fellow running back Austin Ekeler had nothing but praise for Jackson when speaking to ESPN journalist Eric D. Williams.

“He's a creative runner, he's a unique runner. There aren't many people I've seen, in general, that run like he does. Like I tell him, he's got that razzle-dazzle, some hocus-pocus [laughs] — I make up all these different things. That's how he runs, and that's how I'd describe his runs because you really don't know what he's going to do.” said Ekeler.

This is just what Bolt fans were hoping to hear, as it looks like Melvin Gordon will continue to hold out into the regular season. Jackson stepped up in games where Gordon was unable to play and looked like a solid running back.

Against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jackson carried the ball eight times for 63 yards and a touchdown. This was easily his best showing of the year. Jackson, paired with the dynamic Austin Ekeler, have a chance to be a problem for defenses. Ekeler has flashed as a great receiving back over the last two years, but also maintains the power to run between the tackles. Together, this duo can help make up for Melvin Gordon's absence.
