The Los Angeles Chargers could have a problematic situation brewing. According to Eric Williams on Twitter, left tackle Russell Okung's current injury could cause concerns, enough that he might not be ready for the team's training camp in July.

Russell Okung may not be the elite left tackle he was at the start of his career, but he's still one of the more reliable tackles in the NFL. He's also someone you wouldn't want to see leave your rotation.

For the last two seasons he's been on the Los Angeles Chargers offensive line, starting 30 of a possible 32 games in that time.

The Chargers were one of the best (and most surprising) teams in 2018, going 12-4 in the regular season. A big part of that was a strong offense, finishing 11th in total yards. They were 15th in rushing yards but seventh in yards per carry, proving the offensive line played a major role.

Of course, Okung was one of those anchors. If he runs into health concerns in 2019, that could spell trouble for the Chargers. One of their main goals is protecting quarterback Philip Rivers, one of the best quarterbacks in the league last season. Not having Russell Okung seriously complicates that goal.

The good news is that it's still early. They aren't sure if he even will miss time in training camp. If he does, though, there's still plenty of time before the start of the season for Okung to get healthy. This will be his 10th season in the NFL, so he's had enough time to prepare for the upcoming campaign. Now he should just focus on getting healthy.
