It wasn’t all that fun for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. They extended their unbeaten streak to start the season to five games, but it came with the cost of seeing wide receiver Chris Conley suffer a serious Achilles injury.

According to Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid divulged after the game that Conley “reputed his Achilles”.

Unfortunately, his season is over:

Per the San Diego Union-Tribune, Conley’s injury will most likely require surgery.

Conley sustained the ruptured his Achilles late in the contest when Houston was attempting an onside kick.

The third-year wide receiver is the second Chiefs victim of an Achilles injury this season. Safety Eric Berry was sent to the injured reserve list after suffering the same injury in the Chiefs’ win over the New England Patriots back in Week 1.

Minus Conley moving forward, the Chiefs will look to Albert Wilson and Jehu Chesson to fill in the void left by the former Georgia Bulldog.

Conley is currently third on the team in receiving yards with 175, but without a touchdown to show. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce will continue to see the bulk of the targets in the passing game.
