Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has just agreed on his rookie contract with his new NFL squad. This comes after it was earlier reported that the Chiefs have verbally agreed with all six of their draft selections this year. As per Ian Rapoport on Twitter, the 21-year old LSU-alum's has agreed to sign a four-year rookie deal:

Per Rapoport's tweet, the signing came just in time as the rookies of Kansas City will be showing up for testing as part of the precautions of this year's training camp amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coming into this year's rookie draft, Edwards-Helaire was one of the top prospects out of the LSU football program. The young running back had a solid collegiate career for the Tigers, which was capped off with an impressive performance against Clemson to win this year's national championship. Edwards-Helaire, alongside Cincinnati Bengals rookie QB Joe Burrow and a few other teammates, were all selected to the 2019 All-SEC team. After a solid three years in LSU, the Louisiana native decided to forego his senior year and enter the 2020 NFL Draft as arguably one of the top five running backs in the class.

Fortunately for the Chiefs, Edwards-Helaire was still available at the latter part of the first round and was snagged by Kansas City as their 32nd overall pick. The rookie is set to be under the tutelage of one of KC's Super Bowl LIV heroes, running back Damien Williams. It's also going to be interesting to see how Edwards-Helaire will fair under the offense of 2019 NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes.
