In his first full season as the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, quarterback Patrick Mahomes has taken the league by storm leading the NFL's most productive offense.
Mahomes has been fronting that charge at a historic pace that could see him break the all-time touchdown pass mark set by Peyton Manning back in the 2013 campaign. With that in mind, BetOnline.ag has placed betting odds on the chances that Mahomes surpassing that mark this season.
Mahomes is coming off yet another impressive outing as he passed for 358 yards and four touchdown passes in the blowout 45-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. This has pushed him past Hall of Famers Kurt Warner for the most touchdown passes in any player's first 8 games in NFL history with 22 on the season. This marked his fifth performance with multiple touchdown passes that has seen him record three or more touchdown passes in each of those contests.
There doesn't appear to be any slowing down from the second-year quarterback as he has continued to utilize the Pro Bowl level of talent around him wide receivers Tyreek Hill and SammyWatkins, tight end Travis Kelce, and running back Kareem Hunt. This has helped fuel his impressive start to the year that has seen him put together some highly productive outings on a weekly basis. In order for him to reach that mark set by Manning, it will require him to essentially make four or more touchdown passes in each of the remaining nine games of the season.
This sounds like a ridiculous mark for him to reach, but there simply hasn't been a single defense that has been able to figure out how to stop him up this point this season. Until proven otherwise, Mahomes looks to be well on his way toward reaching that historic feat.
