The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to extend their winning streak to four games on Sunday versus the Carolina Panthers and they'll do so without one of their pass-catching options.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Sammy Watkins has been ruled out for Kansas City's bout with the Panthers on Sunday.

Back in Week 5, the Chiefs suffered their first and only loss of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders. During Kansas City's lone defeat, Watkins left the game early with a hamstring injury and was unable to suit up in Week 6.

He has since missed the past three weeks of action and it appears he'll miss his fourth consecutive game on Sunday. Prior to his injury, Watkins had caught 21 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Seven of his receptions, 81 yards, and a touchdown came from his Week 1 performance against the Houston Texans, though.

While Watkins has been sidelined, Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson have seen expanded workloads in the offense. A week ago, Hardman had the best outing of the season, hauling in seven catches for 96 yards and a score.

Besides Hardman and Robinson, both Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce have remained as prominent fixtures in Kansas City's high-octane offense. Not to mention, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Le'Veon Bell are sharing touches out of the backfield.

Seeing that the Chiefs have their bye week in Week 10, they likely want to give Watkins another week to recover from his ailment. Given that, we could possibly see Watkins return in Week 11 for Kansas City's rematch with the Raiders.
