The Kansas City Chiefs were seen as Super Bowl favorites coming into the season. After their latest defeat, a 27-3 drubbing at the hands of the Tennessee Titans, they suffered their fourth loss in seven games thus far. That's double how many they had last season.

That's obviously raised from Chiefs fans all around. It's tough a tough pill to swallow for your Super Bowl team to suddenly turn into a pumpkin for the first half of the season. The scrutiny has clearly taken its toll on the players as well, as both All Pro cornerback Tyrann Mathieu and linebacker Anthony Hitchens have voiced their frustrations on criticism online.

In response to a fan account post on Instagram, the two Chiefs star blasted their fans in retaliation.

“This might be one of the most toxic fan bases in all of sports,” the Chiefs CB surmised in a comment from his personal IG account.

Hitchens, whose hefty contract with the Chiefs was the subject of the post, went even harder in the comments. He reminded fans critical of the team about all they had achieved in recent seasons.

“All we did was go to 3 AFC champions games and 2 Super Bowls and 1 SB win .. in my first 3 years here so far !!y’all fans will never be satisfied it’s sad !!”

The Chiefs players and fans alike aren't used to losing like this. If they can put a few more wins on the board, the tension could very well dissipate in a flash.
