The Kansas City Chiefs' offseason to-do list includes re-signing stars on both sides of the ball, such as tackle Orlando Brown Jr and safety Tyrann Mathieu. However, it's also in the best interest of the Chiefs to extend players who have proven themselves worthy of new contracts, such as star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill's possible contract extension talks received a positive update on Thursday, as reported by Bob Fescoe.

Per Fescoe, the Chiefs and Tyreek Hill have had “positive talks” on a possible contract extension for the speedy wideout. Hill, 28, signed a three-year deal worth $54 million back in 2019, with the average annual cap hit set to be $20.7 million, which would be the fifth-highest hit among NFL wideouts.

Given how important Hill is to the Chiefs' offense- and his high level of play, this could definitely be seen as a bargain. The talented receiver has enjoyed back-to-back 1200-yard seasons since inking that deal, proving his worth.

It' unclear whether Hill simply wants a pay raise or if he wants to be paid like the game's best receiver. If it's the latter, then a new contract extension might have to wait until the Chiefs are in a better cap situation.

Either way, it's a good sign to see that any talks that have been had on Hill's contract with the Chiefs have been good ones.
