The Kansas City Chiefs were expected to experience some drop-off with the injury to quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Fortunately, wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins have managed to step up big for quarterback Matt Moore.

The Chiefs got on the scoreboard with a 40-yard strike from Moore to Hill. Watkins has now managed to make his presence felt with a spectacular one-handed grab to secure a first down and keep the drive alive, via NFL Twitter:

It is undoubtedly encouraging to see Watkins getting back to his dynamic self after struggling to find his footing in the offense since his three-touchdown outburst in the 2019 NFL season opener. His struggles with injuries have seemingly prevented him from etching out a major role in the passing game.

Although Mahomes being sidelined certainly does not help, this could be an opportunity for him to get back on track as one of Moore's trusted weapons for the time being.
