When it comes to the point guard position, the L.A. Clippers are in serious need of backcourt depth after Patrick Beverley was recently lost for the remainder of the 2017-18 season because of right knee surgery.

One person who believes he can be of assistance is retired former Clippers point guard Baron Davis, who was present courtside during the team's thrilling 97-95 win over the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center on Saturday night.

In a video posted to the Clippers' official Twitter account, Davis was interviewed by sideline reporter Jamie Maggio and opened up about star forward Blake Griffin, the team's injury bug and his desire to make a comeback to the NBA in order to help out the Clippers.

“Of course. If the Clippers need me, I could come in there and turn it around,” Davis said during the second quarter interview.

Davis also engaged in a little friendly trash-talking with Clippers color analyst and former San Antonio Spurs forward Bruce Bowen.

“I see Bruce Bowen over there looking at me like he can guard me. Bruce, you cannot guard me, okay?” Davis said with a laugh.

The 38-year-old Davis, who has not played in the NBA since the 2011-12 playoffs when he suffered a gruesome right knee injury as a member of the New York Knicks, was a two-time All-Star who averaged 16.1 points, 7.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest over a span of 13 seasons.
