The Los Angeles Clippers remain without the services of veteran swingman Luc Mbah a Moute, though it appears that his return isn't too far off. According to Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, Mbah a Moute is nearing a return to the court despite missing Sunday afternoon's matchup against the lowly New York Knicks.

Even in the absence of the seasoned forward, the Clippers steamrolled the Knicks by the score of 128-107 on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

It is worth noting, however, that Mbah a Moute was upgraded to questionable ahead of Sunday's contest, which appears to be a positive sign for the Clippers. Upon eventually returning to the floor, Mbah a Moute will be making his first appearance since the fourth game of the 2018-19 regular season. He has continued to be listed as day-to-day throughout the season due to some lingering left knee soreness.

If the 2018-19 NBA regular season were to end today, the Clippers would be in the Western Conference playoff picture. As it stands today, thanks to the team's latest win over the aforementioned Knicks, they currently sit in seventh place in the conference standings, just ahead of the San Antonio Spurs.

With the Western Conference standings seemingly changing by the day at this point in the season, the Clippers must continue to win big games down the stretch in order to ultimately sneak in come the spring. Now seven games over the .500 mark, the Clippers stand at 36-29 overall.
