The world is mourning right at the moment after the news of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant's sudden passing on Sunday. The tragic development has left the entire NBA in shambles, including Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach and Bryant's former teammate Tyron Lue.

Shortly after the Clippers' 112-97 road win against the Orlando Magic at Amway Center, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers bared how inconsolable his deputy was throughout the match. Per ESPN's Nick Friedell:

Ty Lue was really struggling. You forget that Ty Lue was his teammate as well and I look over at Ty during the game and he’s bawling. A lot of emotion tonight, it really was a tough night. Just a tough night,” Rivers shared.

Tyron Lue and Kobe Bryant were teammates with the Lakers from 1998-2001. Lue was a back-up point guard for the Purple and Gold and was part of the team when they won back-to-back titles in 2000 and 2001. Although he never came close to achieving Bryant's level of success, Lue witnessed firsthand Bryant's hardwork and determination during his early years in Los Angeles.

Kobe Bryant was a beloved figure in California and is considered as one of the greatest players to ever lace his sneakers in the NBA. The Clippers and Lakers, of course, do have one of the most intense crosstown rivalries in the league, but Doc Rivers also iterated earlier that “we're all Lakers today”.

Social media has since been flooded with thousands of tributes for the fallen superstar and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, who also lost her life in the unfortunate accident.
