Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard was involved in a dramatic free-agency process involving the Clippers, Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers. Many thought Leonard winding up with the Lakers was a formality, but instead he went to the other LA team, and one of the reported reasons was because Magic Johnson publicly talked about their meeting.

Leonard's camp made it clear to all the teams in pursuit of the two-time Finals MVP that they should not leak any information about their meetings and conversations, as they wanted to keep things private. Obviously, Magic didn't do that, and him announcing his conversations with Leonard might have hurt the Lakers' chances.

However, Leonard himself said his decision to not sign with the Lakers had nothing to do with Johnson's antics:

While Johnson is no longer officially affiliated with the Lakers, everybody knows he still has ties with the organization and that he would do everything in his power to help them succeed.

Well, what's done is done, and no matter how many times we debate if it's Magic's fault that Kawhi didn't join the Lakers or not, it will no longer matter. The Fun Guy has chosen the Clippers, and that will never change.

End of story.
