The Los Angeles Clippers have officially acquired Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Clippers president Lawrence Frank released a statement on the move and called George “one of the greatest two-way players” in the NBA.

“Paul George is one of the greatest two-way players in our game,” Frank said, via Clippers.com. “He is both an elite scorer and a relentless defender whose versatility elevates any team. When you have the opportunity to acquire a contributor of his caliber, you do what it takes to bring him home.

“Paul is a native of the Los Angeles area and an ideal fit for the Clippers, thanks to his selflessness and drive. Following the lead of [owner] Steve Ballmer, we have plotted an aggressive course to build a championship contender, and acquiring Paul is a critical step.”

George is joining Kawhi Leonard on the Clippers, who are now title contenders with PG and Kawhi on the roster.

This past season with the Thunder, George averaged 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from beyond the arc and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The All-Star swingman underwent surgery to his right rotator cuff and left labrum after the Thunder’s season ended, but will be 100 percent for the 2019-20 season.
