Los Angeles Clippers President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank has won the 2019-20 Executive of the Year Award, per ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly.

Frank signed Kawhi Leonard in free agency and acquired Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder in last summer's blockbuster deal.

The Clippers finished the 2019-20 regular season with the second-best record in the Western Conference standings. Along with the additions of Leonard and George, Frank traded for Marcus Morris and signed Joakim Noah and Reggie Jackson during the season.

In the 2020 playoffs, the Clippers defeated the Dallas Mavericks in the first round in six games. The team then took a 3-1 series lead over the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals and all signs pointed toward the Clippers reaching the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history.

However, the Clippers blew their 3-1 lead to the Nuggets and lost the series in seven games. Leonard and George both failed to score in the fourth quarter of Game 7 and George hit the top of the backboard on one of his 3-point attempts from the corner.

After the Clippers returned to Los Angeles from Orlando, Florida, the franchise and head coach Doc Rivers parted ways. Frank and owner Steve Ballmer are currently doing their due diligence on potential replacements for Rivers.

Thus far, L.A. has been linked to Tyronn Lue, Sam Cassell and Mike Brown.

As expected, NBA Twitter is going to clown Frank and the Clippers for this award since the club choked against the Nuggets.
