Ex-Cloud9 jungler Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen re-joins the organization as a substitute jungler, confirmed via a Tweet from Cloud9.

“Sven rejoins the Cloud9 family as a substitute player! (and, of course, to make C9 Zven/Sven even more confusing) Welcome back Dennis!”, said Cloud9 in a follow up Tweet.

According to Svenskeren, Cloud9 founder and CEO Jack Etienne allowed him to entertain any team that reaches out to him for any opportunities to play in the League of Legends Championship Series, or LCS. “Happy to be back and I'll do my best!”, he added.

Svenskeren began his professional career in Europe, wherein he competed at IEM Cologne and the then EU LCS. In 2015, Svenskeren made the move to NA by joining Team Solo Mid. He and the rest of TSM would go on to dominate the region and qualify for the World Championship as North America's first seed. After his two years in TSM, Svenskeren was signed by Cloud9.

C9 Svenskeren's early days were underwhelming, to say the least. However, by cycling around players from both its starting lineup and Academy team, Cloud9 qualified for the 2018 World Championship. They were placed in what was dubbed the “Group of Death,” with Team Vitality, Royal Never Give Up, and Gen.G. C9 Svenskeren and the rest of Cloud9 defied expectations and qualified for playoffs, wherein they made history and 3-0 the Korean team Afreeca Freecs in the quarterfinals. This meant that Cloud9 qualified for the semis, the first time a North American team has done so since the Season One World Championship. Unfortunately, they dropped out of semis after a 3-0 loss to Fnatic.
