The Indianapolis Colts have had some luck dealing with injuries this offseason. Unfortunately, they have suffered yet another minor hiccup with left tackle Anthony Castonzo.

Castonzo had just made his return from a hamstring injury just last week. According to Zak Keefer of the Indianapolis Star, he will miss some time in preparation for Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season:

Anthony Castonzo re-injured his hamstring Friday, and “will miss a little bit of time,” per Frank Reich. I'd expect a few weeks. Still, Castonzo figures to be ready for Week 1.

Keefer added that backup left tackle J'Marcus Webb should get the bulk of the playing time in the preseason.

J'Marcus Webb has looked solid in his stead, and gives the Colts an option at LT for the preseason.

Castonzo's lingering hamstring issue is certainly a cause for concern. Despite getting medically cleared to return to practice it did not take long for him to re-aggravate the injury. Castonzo has long been the bedrock of this offensive line as quarterback Andrew Luck's blindside protector.  As a result, it is clear that Indianapolis is going to take a more cautious approach this time around.

That said, it is encouraging to see that Webb has stepped up his play as of late. However, despite his promise, the Colts would likely still much rather leave Luck's health in more veteran hands. Indianapolis has indicated that their star quarterback will get some work in during the preseason.  This means they will have no choice but to leave it up to Webb to get the job done.
