It's a good thing it's the NFL offseason because if it were the regular season, the Indianapolis Colts would be short-handed. Both Darius Leonard and Eric Ebron are recovering from offseason surgeries, but both are expected to be ready by training camp.

Chris Ballard told reports via the Colts team website that Leonard, the 2018 defensive rookie of the year had a minor procedure to his ankle which will keep him out at least six weeks. That timetable puts him on track for training camp but means that he will miss all of the offseason OTAs.

Leonard suffered the ankle injury early last season but was still able to fight through the pain and play out the rest of the season. The only game he missed was week five against the New England Patriots.

Ballard also confirmed that Eric Ebron underwent surgery on his groin in April, but that isn't expected to hold him out much longer. Ebron could miss a few weeks as a precaution, but the expectation is that he will participate in OTAs with the rest of the team.

Ebron has only been with the Colts for one season but it was the best year of his career, and he is a key for the team going forward. He hauled in 66 receptions for 750 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was Andrew Luck's favorite target in the Red Zone, and he is going to be crucial for the Colts this upcoming season.

Barring any injuries look for both of these guys to have big years in 2019.
