Jonathan Taylor got right to work when the Indianapolis Colts drafted him 41st overall in the 2020 draft. As a rookie, he rushed for the third-most yards in the NFL, as well as 11 touchdowns. Just halfway through his second season, Taylor found his way into the franchise history books.

On Indianapolis' Thursday-night matchup with the New York Jets, Taylor achieved a feat that no Colt had done since 2005. He recorded 100 yards from scrimmage in six straight games, becoming the first player to do so since Edgerrin James. Although James' 13 straight games is a significantly higher mark, doing something that no one has done in 16 seasons is undeniably impressive.

James, a four-time Pro Bowler, two-time rushing yards leader and one-time First Team All-Pro nominee, is the standard of greatness for modern Colts running backs. Suggesting Taylor will be as productive as the Hall of Famer is a very hot take, but he does have a good chance to approach James' productivity given how good he is just two seasons into his career.

Through the first eight games of this season, Taylor has tallied 914 yards from scrimmage, the third-most in the league, and six rushing touchdowns. His versatility is a great benefit to quarterback Carson Wentz, who is looking to regain his elite form.

Taylor achieved the feat before halftime of the game, tallying a game-high 74 rushing yards and 28 receiving yards, as the Colts built up a 28-10 lead against the Jets.
