Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is having quite the night, following this 78 yard touchdown run vs the New York Jets.

That was Jonathan Taylor's 2nd rushing touchdown of the game. He scored from 21 yards out in the 2nd quarter as well. Through three quarters, the Colts already have 261 rushing yards, the most by any team in a game this season. Taylor has 172 of those yards.

According to NextGen Stats, Taylor reached a top end speed of 22.05 miles per hour. That is the fastest speed by a ball carrier this season.

Taylor entered the game 2nd in the NFL in rushing, with 649 yards on the ground, trailing on Derrick Henry.

Henry underwent surgery on his foot Tuesday. There is no timetable for his return, but it is expected that he will miss the rest of the season.

That leaves the rushing title wide open. With a performance like this from Taylor, he might be the favorite to take home that title.

As noted by Zac Keefer from The Athletic, Taylor has 873 yards from scrimmage, the most in the NFL since Week 4.

Taylor was highly touted coming out of Wisconsin. The Colts drafted him 41st overall in the 2nd round and he has made an immediate impact on the league.

During his rookie season, Taylor rushed for 1,169 yards on five yards per carry. He is on pace to crush those numbers in his second season as a pro.

Indianapolis also drafted Michael Pittman in the 2nd round with the 34th overall pick. Those two players are shaping up to be home runs in the draft. With one of the best offensive lines in football, and Carson Wentz seemingly fixed back with Frank Reich, the Colts might make a run at the AFC South crown.
