Although the Carson Wentz blockbuster trade happened months ago, the Indianapolis Colts are working to shake off the bad breakup and work with new quarterback Matt Ryan. After Wentz failed to work with head coach Frank Reich, who first helped unlock his talents, Indy has to prove that their fifth quarterback in five years is worth it.

So far in the Colts' offseason activities, Ryan has been nothing short of a godsend. Reich called Ryan “unbelievable” and said he has done everything right, especially with his great leadership, per Myles Simmons of ProFootball Talk.

“Matt was unbelievable, did a great job, great command — really, A-Z. He did everything right — just great leadership, great play,”

Reich previously said that the way Ryan carries himself was extremely impressive. After getting time to work with him, he is only more impressed.

The players alongside Ryan feel the same way. According to George Brenner of The Herald Bulletin, Colts pass-catchers are already big fans of his. His leadership and accuracy have been specifically touted as he works with his new teammates. Just ask tight end Mo Alie-Cox…

“With Matt, that ball is out…Like, you come out your break, you gotta be ready. ’Cause it’s not this slow, turn your head. Like, turn your head (and) the ball’s going to be on you. But it’s always going to be on point.”

…or Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin.

“Great veteran guy…He’s smart. He knows what it takes to be a winner…He comes in. He works. He’s committed to it. You can tell by the way he talks to us, he leads.

The Colts need the best out of Ryan, and the offense overall, in order to break through to the playoffs. Although they have the fortune of playing in the AFC South, Indianapolis has very little margin for error.
