The 2022 NFL Draft is right around the corner and the rumor mill has been heating up. Some of the rumors swirling around the league are a bit far-fetched, but some have some legs underneath them. Some buzz has been generating for a possible trade for Terry McLaurin, but Washington Commanders' head coach Ron Rivera clears the air.

According to Ben Standig, Ron Rivera claims that nobody has called about Terry McLaurin's availability. The Commanders' head coach takes it a step further by stating, “we wouldn't entertain (a trade).” This sounds like good news for Washington, as the offense has some decent talent that can help them make a playoff push next season.

It's more likely the Commanders keep McLaurin and add a receiver themselves. Washington is in a position where they need to stack the roster around the quarterback position, as they're giving Carson Wentz another chance to prove himself. Trading away their superstar receiver doesn't make much sense for this franchise, as they're competing in a wide-open NFC East division.

It'll be interesting to see how the Commanders play this coming season. Although Carson Wentz isn't an exciting acquisition, he's the best quarterback the franchise has had in years. As long as the front office makes the right decisions in the NFL Draft, we should see this team play competitively throughout 2022.

So, with that said, we're likely to see McLaurin dress down for the Commanders all year. He could be receiving a contract extension as he enters the final year of his contract. If not, then Terry McLaurin will be a highly sought-after free agent in the 2023 offseason.
