For Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman, the team is lucky to have a player and quarterback like Dak Prescott. After all, there's not a lot of leaders like him in the history of the NFL.

Aikman, who spent his entire 12-year career with the Cowboys and led them to three Super Bowl wins, knows the pressure of being the main figure of America's Team. He knows how it's like being put under the microscope day in and day out just because of playing for a valuable franchise. However, based on his observation, Prescott has all the qualities that make him the “perfect” leader for the team.

“Dak has the perfect temperament,” Aikman said of Prescott, per Mike Fisher of Sports Illustrated. “He's the perfect guy.”

The Football Hall of Famer and now FOX Sports broadcaster was a leader himself for the Cowboys when he led the team in the early '90s to the 2000s, and for him, Dak Prescott is just a cut above the rest.

While the 27-year-old signal-caller is coming off a right ankle injury that ended his 2020 season by Week 5, Troy Aikman sees big things ahead for the QB.

“He looked great,” Aikman added. “Every time I see him he gets better and better. I expect him to have an outstanding season. … He knows … it’s 100 percent and can hold up. He’s got a lot in there. He’s got some steel rods and a plate and everything else.”

Prescott is set to be the Cowboys' leader for the next half-decade or so after signing a four-year, $160 million deal with the franchise this offseason. With that said, it's certainly nice to hear a Dallas icon heap praise not only on Dak's quarterback skills but also in his leadership. After all, that is something the team really needs as they try to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the Big D afetr 25-plus years.
