The Dallas Cowboys have placed starting kicker Greg Zuerlein to the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday, and it's an absolute bad news for the team. After all, they don't have another kicker to replace him.

It is unclear if Zuerlein tested positive for COVID-19 or he came in close contact with someone who tested positive. If it's the latter, it's possible he could be given the green light in time for their Week 10 showdown with the Atlanta Falcons.

However, for now, the likelihood of Zuerlein missing the contest is high. It is also the reason why the Cowboys reportedly plans to hold a kicker tryout within the week to find a temporary replacement, per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

There aren't much details provided about Greg Zuerlein's condition and why he was placed ion the COVID-19 list, but it certainly isn't ideal for the Cowboys as they look to bounce-back from a brutal loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 9.

In eight games with the Cowboys this 2021, Zuerlein has made 14 of his 18 field goals for 77.8 percent conversion rates. He has scored 21 of 23 extra points, which has been huge for Dallas in their 6-2 start to the campaign.

It remains to be seen who will replace Zuerlein on the roster, but America's Team surely needs to act fast.
