The Dallas Cowboys are set to take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. It should be a great game, however, it appears the Cowboys will be without Dak Prescott for the evening.

According to Chris Mortensen, the Dallas Cowboys have officially ruled Dak Prescott out against the Minnesota Vikings. This is not an ideal situation, as Dallas needs their star quarterback under center if they hope to make a run for a potential Super Bowl.

With Prescott ruled out, the Cowboys will be starting Cooper Rush under center, with quarterback Will Grier playing the backup role, per Adam Schefter. Cooper Rush filled in sporadically for Dallas last year while Dak Prescott was out with his gruesome ankle injury.

It'll be interesting to see how this game plays out, as not having Dak Prescott in the lineup could be detrimental for Dallas. This is a great opportunity for the Vikings to steal away a win on Sunday Night Football.

Luckily for the Cowboys, this isn't the worst news by any means. The injury isn't all that serious, as the organization has claimed that if it were the playoffs, Prescott would be playing. Additionally, the Cowboys have a nice lead ahead of their divisional rivals of the NFC East.

Losing is never a good thing, but Dallas has a nice buffer right now. They can afford to lose a game right now and allow Dak Prescott to heal up. Of course, the Cowboys will do what's necessary to defeat the Vikings, but this isn't a season-defining scenario by any means.

We'll see how the Cowboys' offense can move the ball with Cooper Rush in the pocket. He's not nearly on the same level as Prescott, but Dallas has a ton of weapons on their team to help out Rush. It should be a great game, as the Vikings look to remain competitive themselves.
