The writing is on the wall for longtime Dallas Cowboys starter Le'el Collins. The right tackle is reportedly on his way out, one way or another.

The Cowboys are reportedly fully cooperating as the 28-year-old tackle looks for his new NFL trade destination after spending seven seasons as a member of the squad.

Via ESPN's Adam Schefter:

Dallas has given permission to starting RT La'el Collins to seek a trade, according to his new agent Peter Schaffer. Dallas needs cap room and Collins was scheduled to make $15.25 million this season. Likely to be released if no trade.

Collins has been an integral part of the Cowboys' offensive line, playing in 74 total games for Dallas with 71 starts since his arrival on the team as a rookie back in 2015. However, with the cap figure on La'el Collins upwards of $15 million and the current directive to shed additional salary, cutting ties with their established lineman became the clear move.

La'el Collins has also been off the field more than he has been on it for Dallas the past couple of seasons. He was suspended for five games in 2021 for substance abuse issues and missed the entirety of 2020 with a season-ending hip injury. This following three straight years with a near perfect bill of health.
