Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle La'el Collins only has two games to endure before his suspension ends, but it appears he wants it to end sooner rather than later.

According to Calvin Watkins of Dallas Morning News, Collins is pulling all the stops to reduce his five-game suspension. Apparently, he filed a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction in the Colin County District Court in a bid to play again. The representatives of the Cowboys OT argued that the NFL has “intentionally mislead the arbitrator by stating Mr. Collins had previously received a four (4) game suspension from the NFL.”

To recall, La'el Collins was suspended after the Cowboys' Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for violation of the league's substance abuse policy. He reportedly missed and failed to appear in several scheduled drug tests.

In a follow-up report, it was noted that Collins' suspension was initially reduced to two games thanks to the NFL Players Association. However, after the camp of the Cowboys tackle appealed the punishment, a third-party arbitration was needed. Unfortunately, it only led to the reinstatement of the five-game suspension.

Now, Collins and his representatives are making a move to reduce the suspension once again. However, the timing of the appeal is confusing since, as mentioned, there are only two games left before it ends. Hopefully, it won't lead to any setback that could hinder his return.
