Two-time Pro Bowl running back Herschel Walker believes that he should be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and he isn't shy about making a case for himself. Known mostly for his time spent with the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings, Walker initially made a name for himself at the University of Georgia and in the USFL as a member of the New York Generals before ultimately making the leap to the NFL.

“If you look at my stats, I should be in the Hall of Fame,” Walker recently told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press. “My stats showed that I produced.”

Perhaps most notably for Walker trying to make a statement as a well-rounded and all-time great running back, the NFL legend with the Cowboys recorded 18,168 all-purpose yards for his career, which currently ranks 12th in league history. However, Walker ranked second in such a category when he retired while only trailing another legendary NFL running back in Walter Payton.

“Let’s just forget about my USFL days,” Walker added. “Look at my stats in the NFL. Look at my combined yards. Plus, I had 500 some catches (512). Those stats are good enough to be in the Hall of Fame. That’s what people need to look at when they start talking about numbers and all that.”

During his time spent in the NFL, which ranged from 1986 to 1997, Walker suited up for the Vikings, Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants while making his way to Dallas not once but twice — at the beginning and end of his tenure.
