There has been a lot of talk about the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum's turf after the Dallas Cowboys loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, and now owner Jerry Jones seems to be placing the blame for the team's loss on the team's trouble to get traction.

Appearing on 105.3 The Fan, Jones said after watching the tape it was clear the team was having an issue getting their footing, and if he could go back he would change what type of footwear the team was wearing.

“I’ve had the benefit of the tape, looking at the tape, the evaluation by both scouts as well as the coaches,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, via USA Today. “We frankly had never gotten traction. And I mean that literally. That was a slippery field. If I had to do it over again, we would be really scrutinizing our footwear. Our cleats. We had trouble digging in, so to speak.”

Yes, it might be true that the Cowboys had trouble getting their footing, but the Rams were also playing on the same turf, so they also had to deal with the slippery conditions.

Maybe the bigger issue was that the Rams knew by the way the defensive line was lined up, what type of defense was being run, which makes it a lot easier to run the ball.

Sometimes people are just looking for ways to not blame coaches and players, and that seems to be what Jones is trying to do with these comments.
