While nothing is official yet, Kellen Moore is expected to become the next offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It certainly seems like the most probable conclusion based on recent events.

The Cowboys fired Scott Linehan as offensive coordinator after their playoff exit. Moore was Dallas' quarterbacks coach this past season, but the Cowboys went out and hired Jon Kitna as their new quarterbacks coach.

So, it seems only natural that Dallas will promote Moore.

Rapoport says that the most likely scenario will be Moore calling plays, Kitna as quarterbacks coach, Doug Nussmeier—who has always been named as a potential offensive coordinator—as tight ends coach and head coach Jason Garrett merely overseeing rather than having a role in play calling.

One thing is for sure: the Cowboys could certainly use a change offensively, as Dallas ranked just 22nd in the league in both yards and scoring during the 2018 campaign.

Moore actually had a four-year NFL playing career that just ended with the Cowboys in 2015. The 29-year-old started two games under center for Dallas that season in relief of the injured Tony Romo.

The Boise State product spent his first three NFL seasons with the Detroit Lions.

Dallas won 10 games and captured the NFC East division title this past year, rebounding from a 3-5 start. It then went on to defeat the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round, marking the franchise's third playoff win since 1997. The Cowboys ultimately fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round the following week.
