Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman thinks the rest of the NFL should be wary of his former team. After all, he knows a strong offense when he sees one, and he believes Dak Prescott's 2021 squad has it.

Ahead of the Cowboys Week 4 showdown with the Carolina Panthers, Aikman shared how difficult it will be for Matt Rhule's men–or any team really–to stop both the elite rushing and passing of Mike McCarthy and Co. As Aikman noted, teams might fall into the trap of thinking about limiting Dallas' rushing game only to see the passing game blow them out with massive plays.

“If you’re an inferior team–and I think a lot of teams who are going to come and play Dallas are going to be inferior to them–then the best way in order to get into the fourth quarter with a chance to win, which is all you’re hoping for, you want to minimize the offensive snaps,” Aikman said of the Cowboys, per USA Today.

“The more snaps they have, the better chance they have of blowing you out and scoring points. To do that, you have to shorten the game. You try to shorten the game by controlling the clock on your side of the ball, but also not giving up big plays. So I would play coverage. I would try to keep them from making big plays in the passing game and then make them just commit through the game of running the ball. Can you stop them? You get them to third down and you make a play, a dropped pass, a DB makes a play, then they’re punting. That’s the way that I would do it. I would not come up and try to stop the run and be over-committed to that and Ezekiel Elliott and [Tony] Pollard–and I like what he’s done too–and then allow CeeDee Lamb and the rest of them to run through your secondary. I think that’s a recipe for getting blown out.”

Troy Aikman certainly knows what he's talking about, and fans and opponents alike don't have to look far for proof of that. The Philadelphia Eagles saw that first-hand in their Week 3 showdown with the Cowboys, as Dak Prescott recorded three passing touchdowns while Ezekiel Elliott rushed for two TDs in a dominant 41-21 win.

It is also worth noting that the Cowboys played a close game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, and had it not for Tom Brady's brilliance, America's team could have been 3-0 now and one of the few undefeated teams in the NFL.

As Aikman said it, the Cowboys have the ability to blow out any team with their high-octane offense. With that said, opponents wouldn't want to have them rolling offensively or face the terror of Prescott and Co.

The Cowboys are currently 2-1 and atop the NFC East. And by the looks of it, the Washington Football Team, New York Giants and Eagles might have a hard time toppling them from their current position.
