Following the successful launch of its first console game, Shift Up has announced that Stellar Blade will be holding a collab with the game company’s mobile shooting game Goddess of Victory: Nikke.

In a recent article on Gametoc (the article is in Korean), it was brought up that Shift Up, the developers behind both Stellar Blade and Nikke, were planning on a collab between the two games. Although they did not give a date for when this collab will happen, the fact that it will happen is likely already set in stone.

As per the article (translated using DeepL), the collab will likely be a cross-over, bringing elements of each game to the other. For example, Stellar Blade will be getting costumes based on characters from Nikke. Nikke, on the other hand, will see the appearance of Eve, Lily, Raven, and Tachy.

Sadly, there’s not much news yet as to when this event will take place, or just what the event entails. We don’t know yet as of this article whose outfits will be brought over to Stellar Blade, or if the Stellar Blade characters will be playable in Nikke. Should more information become available, we will be sure to let you know.

Other than the Nikke Collab, the article also revealed that the Boss Challenge Mode, something similar to the one in the game’s demo, is also on the way. Shift Up Technical Director Dong-Gi Lee mentioned that they “haven’t decided on the details yet”. However, they “want to see users play and then decide based on their feedback.”

Additionally, they also announced that a much-requested photo mode is “being considered internally.” The game did not ship with a photo mode, much to the disappointment of fans who likely wanted to record their adventures in Stellar Blade.

This Likely Won’t Be The Last Stellar Blade Collab

Shift Up is not new to the collab scene. Last year, they held a collab between NieR: Automata and Goddess of Victory: Nikke. The collab introduced NieR characters 2B, A2, and Pascal to Nikke as playable characters, allowing players to roll for them in the gacha (except for Pascal who was available for free).

A more recent collab was between Nikke and the anime series Re:ZERO, which brought various characters from the anime to the game, including Emilia, Rem, and Ram.

Although this collab between Stellar Blade and Nikke is the console game’s first collab, it will likely not be its last. In a recent interview, Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung Tae mentioned that they will be working on free updates for Stellar Blade, which includes skins, outfits, and the like.

He also mentioned that the game will not have any microtransactions, with the sole exception being if the collab skins and outfits were from a different company or IP. For example, should Stellar Blade decide to collab with NieR: Automata like Nikke did, players will likely have to pay a small amount for the skin.

Funnily enough, it’s not even farfetched for the collab to happen. Back in 2021, when Stellar Blade was still under development, NieR: Automata writer and director Yoko Taro already showed interest in buying the game.

That’s all the information we have about the upcoming collab between Stellar Blade and Nikke. Stellar Blade is available exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
