Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo expects to play in his team's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend after suffering a scary eye injury during the Cowboys' loss to the Indianapolis Colts this past Sunday, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

Su'a-Filo was poked in the left eye during the defeat and couldn't see out of it for 24 hours.

“You’re just afraid of the unknown and wondering why your eye can’t open,” Su’a-Filo said. “Once you figure it out, then you’re good. It’s nice when you get it open, and realize you can see and your eyeball is fine.”

That sounds absolutely terrifying.

The left guard wore sunglasses in Dallas' locker room on Wednesday, as there was noticeable swelling and bruising around the eye. The good news is that Su'a-Filo has no issues with depth perception or his peripheral vision, so it looks like he is good to go.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at UCLA, was originally selected by the Houston Texans in the second round (33rd pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He played in 13 games for the Texans during his rookie campaign, only making one start. By his third season in 2015, Su'a-Filo had become the starting left guard for Houston, playing in all 16 contests.

The American Fork, Ut. native spent the first four years of his career with the Texans before signing with the Tennessee Titans last April. However, the Titans ended up cutting Su'a-Filo before the season began, and the Cowboys then signed him on Sept. 11.

He has started six games for Dallas at left guard.
