Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Zack Martin are among the many victims of injuries during preseason games, but it does not seem that he’ll miss any time once the regular season rolls around.

“No doubt,” says Martin when asked about whether he’s ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season against the Carolina Panthers on the road on Sep. 9., according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

Martin hurt his knee during the second quarter of last week’s preseason match against the Cincinnati Bengals. He exited the contest and never returned, which was not a good sign, though, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett and team owner Jerry Jones allayed fears of a serious injury by not showing any deep concerns about it.

Martin’s MRI results that cleared him of any ligament damage along with his declaration of readiness for the Panthers game should reduce, if not extinguish, any remaining qualms about his availability when the NFL shifts into the regular season mode.

With All-Pro center Travis Frederick gone for the foreseeable future after getting diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, Garret has suggested that Zack Martin could be asked to snap the ball at times this coming season, per RJ Ochoa of Blogging the Boys.

Martin signed a huge six-year deal worth $84 million with the Cowboys last June, and that massive contract comes with an immense responsibility to lead the offensive line in blocking for the team’s backfield and in protecting franchise quarterback Dak Prescott.
