David Ross has already heard his name mentioned often as a potential managerial candidates for the Chicago Cubs. After the team made the decision to move on from Joe Maddon, they will now be looking for the guy that can get them back into World Series contention.

Most fans seem to have jumped on the Ross bandwagon very quickly. He was loved as a player with the Cubs and has remained close with the franchise. Now, the only thing that needs to be figured out is whether Ross is interested in becoming an MLB manager.

Jesse Rogers shared a quote from Ross when asked about the Cubs' manager position on Baseball Tonight.

Ross certainly sounds like he would be interested in taking the job if Theo Epstein offers it to him. It seems likely that the two will have a conversation or two about it.

Maddon did an amazing job with the Cubs during his tenure in Chicago. He helped lead the team to a World Series victory, but all good things come to an end. Things seemed stale this season and the team's collapse down the stretch of the season made this move an obvious one to make.

Bringing a guy like Ross on board wold make a lot of sense for the Cubs. As a player, he was a mentor and was a great help calling the game behind the plate. He is loved in the Cubs' dugout and wold be welcomed back with open arms.

This seems like a match made in heaven for both the Cubs and Ross. Epstein will likely talk to quite a few candidates, but it would not be surprising if Ross finally gives in to the itch to get back into the dugout as the next manager in Chicago.
