Joe Rogan ended up missing UFC 271 after claiming that he had a prior engagement. This was questioned by a few people but it made sense considering he missed a few pay-per-view events last year. Dana White was asked about the absence.

There was plenty of speculation as to why Rogan missed UFC 271. Many assumed Disney stepped in and asked the UFC not to feature him. Others assumed he was on some sort of suspension from the company.

As it turns out, Dana White surprisingly spilled the beans at the UFC 271 post-fight press conference and revealed the true reason. Turns out, no one actually asked Rogan to stay at home.

“There’s no conflict of schedule,” White said via TheMacLife. “Joe Rogan didn’t work tonight. Joe Rogan could’ve worked tonight.

“Yeah, I don’t know what Joe Rogan had to do, you guys will have to ask Joe Rogan, but there was no ‘Joe couldn’t work’ or anything like that. I know that came out. It’s total bullshit.”

Rogan has been under a lot of scrutiny after a video of him saying the ‘n-word' a few years ago came to light. It was then followed up with a video of the UFC commentator making a racist joke.

It's not clear when he plans to return to the UFC but the promotion has no plans to have him sit out. Dana White was also asked about when he'll make his return.

“Yeah, I don’t know what Joe Rogan had to do, you guys will have to ask Joe Rogan, but there was no ‘Joe couldn’t work’ or anything like that. I know that came out. It’s total bullshit.”
