The Minnesota Timberwolves' playoff run came to an end on Friday, as they were eliminated in six games by the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference first-round.

For a franchise that has not had much to go its way over the years, the Timberwolves' promising finish to the 2021-2022 season sure reignited a fan base which had longed for success. Even though Minnesota has not won a playoff series in 18 years, the fan base continues to remain loyal through the team's highs and lows.

Timberwolves guard D’Angelo Russell has only been with the team for three seasons, and he sure has much love for the fan base.

Russell took to Twitter on Saturday to offer his appreciation to the fans following the team’s playoff exit.

Several other Timberwolves players have also given their stamp of approval to the team’s fans as well. For one, Karl-Anthony Towns noted during his post-game press conference on Friday that the fans helped him “enjoy basketball again.”

The Timberwolves now face an offseason filled with plenty of question marks across the board. For one, Towns could be eligible for a supermax extension. More so, Russell’s long-term future in Minnesota is slated to be a talking point as well, especially as he has a mere one more season remaining on his contract.

It will be noteworthy to see on just how aggressive the Timberwolves plan on being in the upcoming offseason.
