The Las Vegas Raiders find themselves with a 6-4 record entering Week 12, which feels all too familiar. Following the disappointing end to last season, Derek Carr believes the Raiders' 6-4 record this season ‘feels different' this time around.

“Me and Mr. Mayock, I said the same words to him in our conversation the other day, ‘you know we were 6-4 last year?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, but this feels different.’ And he said, ‘I agree.’ I think we both feel that it’s different,” the Raiders QB said Wednesday, via SB Nation's Bill Williamson. “There’s just something about this team; the teams we’ve lost to, how we’ve lost and things like that. The teams that we’ve played with and beat and things like that. We’re definitely a better team this year, but we right now have to, and I mean have to, finish this season better than we did last year. And I believe that we will. I’m hopeful and I believe that we will and I think that it’s different, I feel it’s different, but time will tell if it’s different.”

At this time a year ago, the Raiders were 6-4, looking to clinch a playoff spot in the AFC. However, Las Vegas would lose five of their last six games, finishing with a below-average 7-9 record.

Despite the underwhelming finish to last season, Carr is confident that this team can avoid a collapse. Carr is arguably playing the best football of his career right now and the offense of the Raiders is more efficient.

While the Kansas City Chiefs are likely going to win the AFC West, Las Vegas could be headed toward a playoff appearance this season. Even though there is pressure for the Raiders to finish strong, Carr doesn't envision them losing many more games in the regular season.
