Heading into week ten as the only winless team in the NFL has got to be a lonely place and as the Detriot Lions prepare to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this week, they are doing just that. Jared Goff and company head into Pittsburgh for a game that has sportsbooks around the country installing the Steelers as eight and a half point favorites.

The all-time matchup between the two teams is downright frightening to look at for Lions fans. Since the AFL/NFL merger, the Steelers are 13-2 against the Lions. Also, Pittsburgh is currently riding a five-game winning streak against Detroit–one that has spanned the past 23 years! This year's squad is going to be trying to break the curse– so here are four predictions for what will happen when they try to do just that.

Detroit Lions Week 6 Predictions

4. Amon-Ra St. Brown is going to score a touchdown

Despite averaging a modest seven PPR fantasy points per game as a rookie, Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has yet to find the endzone in any of his games this season. He is playing with a quarterback in Goff that leaves a lot to be desired, and he loses opportunities to volume pass-catchers D'Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson.

Still, there are targets to be had in the offense still, and St. Brown has been intermittently picking them up.  During a few games, he has been taken out of different scenarios for Kalif Raymond, but that “schtick” of using special teamers on offense has officially run its course. It is time to get the rookie more involved in the offense and what better way to do so than by getting him his first career NFL touchdown.

3. That will be the Lions' only score of the day

This offense has been so bad lately that head coach Dan Campbell has actually had to call Goff out through the media on a couple of occasions. He is not a coach that seems content with losing during a rebuild,  but what can he do? The team can't find their way into the endzone at a high enough rate to win games.

Some credit must be given, though, to the Steelers if they are able to accomplish the feat of only giving up one touchdown on the game. The star-studded defense, led by all-world pass-rusher T.J. Watt and veteran Cameron Heyward, has been terrorizing opponents all year long. They are vulnerable to giving up big-time yardage from time to time, though, leading me to my next point…

2. D'Andre swift will catch ten passes

Twice this year, Swift has caught ten passes, and his high for targets sits at 11. As the Lions have gone through game by game, loss by loss, one thing has stayed the same and that is Swift's receiving game work. His opportunities have been as consistent as any back in the NFL and he has the looks of the next Alvin Kamara.

This week, he will get more work catching passes out of the backfield than he has in the past few weeks when it has been phenomenal already. Detroit figures to be falling behind early in this one and if they abandon the run, that sets Swift up for PPR Gold.

1. The Lions will not cover the 8.5 point spread

If you look at the Lions and see that they are coming off of a bye week while the Steelers are coming off a Monday Night Football game and therefore a short week, you might think they could pull this one off. Detroit runs the ball at a top-15 clip in the league and the Steelers give up 109 yards per game on the ground.

The problem is that even without Chase Claypool, this Steelers' offense is so much better than the Lions' defense that it isn't even funny. If they are able to capitalize on that early and often, Detroit will be forced to abandon the run, setting up themselves to lose by more than the eight and a half point spread.
