The Arizona Diamondbacks will continue their three-game series with the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday at Camden Yards. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Diamondbacks-Orioles prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Diamondbacks entered the weekend series with an 18-20 record. Ultimately, they were riding some great momentum after sweeping the Cincinnati Reds at the Great American Ballpark. The Reds are 4-3 in May and look to have more success this weekend.

The Orioles entered the weekend with a 24-12 record. Substantially, they split the two-game series with the Washington Nationals. It gave them a 5-2 May record heading into the weekend. Now, they look to keep the momentum going.

Ryne Nelson starts for the Diamondbacks. He is 2-2 with a 5.23 ERA. Recently, he went five innings while allowing four earned runs on eight hits while striking out three in a win over the San Diego Padres. This will be his first time facing the Orioles.

John Means starts for the Orioles. Amazingly, he won his season debut against the Cincinnati Reds after tossing seven shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out eight. This will be his first start against the Diamondbacks.

Why The Diamondbacks Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Diamondbacks are doing solid work on offense. Currently, they are eighth in batting average. The Diamondbacks are also fifth in on-base percentage and runs. However, they are only 18th in home runs. The DBacks are also 13th in slugging percentage.

Corbin Carroll is the leadoff hitter and is struggling in his sophomore season. Unfortunately, he is hitting just .206 with two home runs, 13 RBIs, and 15 runs. Ketel Marte is batting .298 with seven home runs, 18 RBIs, and 27 runs. Overall, he has a mark of .288 with 15 hits, one home run, five RBIs, and seven runs over 16 games against the Orioles. Joc Pederson is batting .302 with four home runs, eight RBIs, and 15 runs this season. However, he has struggled against the Orioles, batting just .211 (4 for 19) with one home run, two RBIs, and two runs against the Orioles in his career.

Christian Walker is hitting .279 with seven home runs, 26 RBIs, and 27 runs this season. Also, he is hitting .250 (5 for 20) with two home runs, four RBIs, and three runs over six career games against the O's. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is batting just .233 with five home runs, 23 RBIs, and 20 runs. However, he has enjoyed facing the Orioles in his career, hitting .338 with 71 hits, 12 home runs, 47 RBIs, and 34 runs through 56 games against the Orioles.

The Diamondbacks are struggling to pitch well. Unfortunately, they are just 22nd in team ERA. Their bullpen is also just 24th in team ERA. Therefore, this pitching staff must find ways to improve.

The Diamondbacks will cover the spread if they can generate some runs and produce long innings. Then, they need Nelson to avoid making mistakes against the most dangerous lineup in the majors.

Why The Orioles Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Orioles continue to rock the baseball on offense. At the moment, they are 10th in batting average. The Orioles have struggled to get on base in other ways, ranking 20th in on-base percentage. Despite that, they are seventh in runs. Much of this is because they are the best team in the majors in home runs and second in slugging percentage.

Gunnar Henderson has been an effective leadoff hitter, batting .271 with 11 home runs, 25 RBIs, and 28 runs this season. Now, expect him to continue setting the tone for the Orioles. Adley Rutschman has had another good season, clipping .318 with five home runs, 22 RBIs, and 20 runs. Therefore, expect him to be a force at the plate.

Ryan Mountcastle is hitting .277 with six home runs, 18 RBIs, and 20 runs this season. Significantly, he has been an effective hitter in the heart of the order and looks to do more damage this weekend. But Anthony Santander is struggling. So far, he is batting just .215 with six home runs, 24 RBIs, and 18 runs this season.

The Orioles are a top-10 pitching staff. Significantly, they are sixth in team ERA. The Orioles also have solid relievers, ranking 11th in team ERA.

The Orioles will cover the spread if their fearsome lineup can continue producing. Then, they need Means to replicate his effort from his season debut and hit his spots.

Final Diamondbacks-Orioles Prediction & Pick

The Diamondbacks are not an awful team. In fact, they are merely average. But the Orioles are an elite team. Moreover, they may be a World Series contender. Means shined in his first start of the season and may do everything possible to duplicate that effort. Ultimately, he will be the difference as his mastery of the strike zone continues as he dominates the Diamondbacks, holding the fort. While he does this, his offense will produce some runs and give the Orioles a major victory. Expect the Orioles to win this game and cover the spread.
